Spirit of the Mountains
by Anne Lough and others
Instrumental Music of the Southern Appalachians. Fiddle, banjo, mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, autoharp, and gutar were used on this recording. To capture the spirit of the music, the recording was done with all four musicians in one room, listening to and playing off each other as has been done for hundreds of years. And to create the "live" sound heard on authentic mountain music, there were no double tracks or dubbing used in the recording process. As "Spirit of the Mountains", Anne, Rob, Jeff, and Janet hope the music gets your toes tappin'. carries you away to a special place in the mountains, and touches your heart.
Tunes: Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine; Kitchen Girl; White Rose Waltz; Johnyy, Don't Get Drunk; Year of Jubilo; Ducks on the Pond; Peeler Creek; Dutch Girl/Sandy Boys; Sally Anne/Barlow Knfe; Pig Ankle Rag; West Virginia Waltz; Redwing; Hangman's Reel; Single Footin' Horse; My Own House Waltz; Ragtime Annie
